My Beautiful World

My Beautiful world is a portrayal of showing myself diagnosed with High functioning Autism and how doing art has transformed my life into a new dimension. It also became a form of therapy for me because it shows how I sometimes show my emotions and mood swings. Also colours used in my art pieces portray my personality and how I love seeing colours everywhere.

When I was in 11th grade before I came to NAFA, I had difficulties socially adjusting so I had an idea of drawing abstract portraits of people representing the human minds based on what people like and how they are confused. Also I decided to portray myself as well since I wanted to mix around with people and make friends. So this masterpiece is representing my mind right here is showing my personality and how I was diagnosed with issues in my past and what brought me into a new journey despite having problems.

I truly believe my mind is beautiful as it is unique and I have an ability to look at things differently. I may come across as a brusque and abrupt person and therefore antisocial. But believe me this is far from the truth. I love being with a community, I love clothes, parties, and hanging out in the mall. It’s just that my exterior behaviour puts people off. I have dreams of having a job, and a family just like anyone else. I wish people would see my beautiful world.

I wish to change perceptions in this world and put an end to prejudices that people have against those who are differently abled. Open your eyes to my beautiful world.
